Studying and Military Service
There is an information sheet with general information on coordinating your studies and military service. If you are called up for a refresher course during the lecture period or if the military service overlaps with exams or exam preparation, you can submit a request for postponement of service. You will find information on how to proceed on the information sheet.
Recruit school and starting your studies
If you would like to complete recruit school before you start your studies, please follow the coordination procedure in the information sheet below (German only).

Requesting postponement of your military service
If you wish to postpone your military service, you must submit an application for postponement to the relevant office. The leaflet below explains the actions you need to take (German only).

Credits for military leadership training
It is possible to credit military cadre training to some of the Faculty of Science's study programmes.
ECTS Credits may be obtained for the following military cadre training courses:

To obtain credits, the following conditions must be met:
- The student must have completed the service required to obtain the rank in question.
- An overall grade of at least 3 (good) is required.
- Training must have been completed no more than five years before the expected date of graduation.
- Only one training course can be credited for each study level.
The following major programs award credits. No credits are awarded in minor programs:

To receive credits, you must submit an application in writing to the Office of Student Affairs. The following documents are required:
- Copy of your final military qualification, cadre training and training completed for the rank for which credits are being applied.
- Evidence of military rank achieved (from service book (DB) page 8).
- Confirmation of length of service (from DB page 12).
These qualifications will be registered by the Office of Student Affairs. Credits are given as "passed" without any grade.

You must submit a written request and have it confirmed by the Office of Student Affairs via contact form.
