Semester enrollment takes place in the second half of May for the following fall semester and in the second half of November for the following spring semester. For the new study programs according to the major/minor system, a major and minor program combination must be selected during semester enrollment, which results in a total of 180 ECTS credits. The combination of programs can be changed at each semester enrollment.
It is very important that the study program enrollment (i.e. the enrollment for a combination of major and minor study programs) in the semester in which you wish to graduate is accurate. If this is not the case, your degree cannot be completed and you will need to contact the University Office of Student Affairs to have this corrected. This can lead to delays and in the worst-case scenario your study will be prolonged by 1 additional semester. If you do not wish to change your enrollment or study program combination for the new semester, no proactive semester enrollment is not necessary.
It should also be noted that credits for a minor study program at another faculty, especially the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics, will only be credited to the minor study program if a corresponding subject enrollment has been submitted. Minor study programs at other faculties are subject to their own regulations.
We recommend that you enroll for the semester as soon as possible and pay the invoice for the semester fee immediately. If there are delays, you risk not being able to book any modules when the booking period begins or ends.
It is no longer possible to change the program after the deadline. However, you can still book modules for your new study program in the current semester and apply for the change at the next semester enrollment. This also applies to the transition from a Bachelor's to a Master's program. You can transfer up to 30 ECTS credits from modules that you have already completed at Bachelor's level to the Master's program, provided that the modules can counted towards your to the Master's degree.
Unfortunately, not. The minor programs in Biology and Biomedicine cannot currently be studied by students with a major in Psychology.
Please contact the Student Administration Office of the University of Zurich using the contact form or go to the counter during opening hours. Further details can be found at https://www.students.uzh.ch/de/contact.html.
The invoice for semester fees is available for download in the “Enrollment” application of the respective semester (Student Portal, My Applications and Invoices) at the beginning of June and the beginning of December.
