Recognition of previous achievements

If you have previously studied at another university and earned ECTS Credits, you can submit a request for credit transfer. Credits will not be transferred automatically. The request must be submitted in writing to the Office of Student Affairs of the MNF (gesuche@mnf.uzh.ch) and you must enclose complete and gap-free transcripts or other certificates of previous achievements and, if applicable, descriptions of the contents of modules you took. You can submit the request as soon as you have successfully enrolled at the University of Zurich. The request for credits transfer must be submitted within the first semester of study. No credits can be recognized afterwards. Only credits that have not already been used for a degree can be recognised.

Please note: We will always credit at all your achievements as a package, successful and failed attempts. It is therefore possible that only successfully passed modules will be credited, but that, depending on the case, failed attempts will also be credited and taken over. If this is the case, you can choose not to transfer your previous achievements and start from scratch at the UZH. For students coming from the ETH Zurich, the partial exams of the first-year examinations (Basisprüfung) are considered separately and failed attempts may be relevant even though the first-year examination was graded as passed altogether. No credits can be recognised from the Human, Dental or Veterinary Medicine degree programmes.
