- The “Anti-Littering Irchelpark Initiative” received the Team-Effort-Award 2022 at the Dies Academicus 2023. The team consists of the Executive Usage Management Irchel Campus, Social Psychology, Facility Management Irchel Campus, Scientific Visualisation, Visual Communication and the MNF communication of 2022.
- Prof. Dr. Michael Baudis has been elected as co-chair of the “Sounding Board Researchers” of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences (Akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz, a+).
- Prof. Dr. Michael Baudis, Department of Molecular Life Sciences, was elected to the “Sounding Board Researchers for Open Research Data” of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences (Akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz).
- Prof. Dr. Alberto Cattaneo was just invited to serve another term of 3 years on the Advisory Board of the Max Planck Institute of Mathematics in Bonn (Germany).
- Prof. Dr. Sara I. Fabrikant received the Waldo-Tobler GIScience Prize 2023 for her outstanding and sustained contributions to the discipline worthy of inspiring young scientists in Geoinformatics or Geographic Information Science, and for having accomplished significant advances in research and education.
- Dr. Oliver Grübner, senior teaching and research assistant and group leader, Department of Geography, and his team has received one of the first ever UZH Postdoc Team Award.
- Prof. Dr. Peter Hamm of the Department of Chemistry received the “TRVS Lifetime Achievement Award” (Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy).
- Prof. Dr. Sebastian Jessberger, dual professor at the Brain Research Institute receives the Cloëtta Prize 2023.
- Prof. Dr. Christian Klug, adjunct professor at the Department of Paleontology, received the “Friedrich von Alberti-Award” from the Friedrich von Alberti Foundation of Hohenloher Muschelkalkwerke.
- Prof. Dr. Lucio Mayer, professor at the Department for Computational Science, received together with Prof. Dr. Florina Ciorba, University of Basel, the EuroHPC Extreme Scale Access Award.
- Prof. Dr. Kai Niebert, PhF/MNF dual professor for Natural Science Education, was appointed by the German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz to the Council for Sustainable Development.
- Prof. Dr. Tommaso Patriarchi, MeF/MNF dual professor, received the Young Scientist Lectureship Award from the International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN).
- Prof. Dr. Greta Patzke and Prof. Dr. David Tilley are among to the 6 finalists (123 projects were submitted from Switzerland, Germany and Austria) for the Werner Siemens Foundation (WSS) funded WSS100 (Werner Siemens-Stiftung Jahrhundertprojekt) for a new WSS Research Center "Technologien für eine nachhaltige Ressourcennutzung". Being among the finalists, they have now been awarded a WSS-Forschungspreis over 1 MCHF.
- Prof. Dr. Greta Patzke was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Mülheim/Ruhr (Germany).
- Salome Püntener, PhD student at the Department of Chemistry, is awarded the SNSF Scientific Image Competition 2023 Award for her thin layer chromatography in the synthesis of fluorophores.
- Prof. Dr. Davide Scaramuzza, dual professor at the Institute of Informatics, won the "2024 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award for outstanding early to mid-career contributions to technologies holding the promise of innovative applications".
- Prof. Dr. Florian Schiestl, Department of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany, received the Silverstein-Simeone Award of the International Society of Chemical Ecology. The award recognizes outstanding work at the frontiers of chemical ecology.
- Prof. Dr. Bernhard Schmid, professor emeritus at the Department of Geography, was ranked global #58 in the field of Ecology and Evolution and #1 in Switzerland by Research.com. He was also recognised with their Ecology and Evolution Leader Award for 2023.
- Prof. Prof. mult. Dr. med. Dr. rer. nat. Oliver Ullrich, MeF/MNF dual professor, was elected as president of the DGLRM (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrtmedizin).
- Prof. Dr. Oliver Ullrich of the Institute of Anatomy and Director of the UZH Space Hub received the Life Science Award by the International Academy of Astronautics IAA for his innovative research in space life sciences.

- Prof. Dr. Titus Neupert, associate professor at the Department of Physics received an SNSF Consolidator Grant.
- Prof. Dr. Michal Juríček, SNSF-professor at the Department of Chemistry received an SNSF Consolidator Grant. In addition, he also received the "true" ERC CoG from Brussels.
- Prof. Dr. Corinna Ulcigrai, full professor at the Department of Mathematics received an SNSF Consolidator Grant.
- Prof. Dr. Isabelle Arnold, MeF/MNF dual assistant professor at the Institute of Experimental Immunology received an SNSF Consolidator Grant.

Prof. Dr. Alexandra Trkola, dual professor at the Department of Medical Virology was awarded a 3 million dollar grant by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for the project: "RENEW clinical studies in people with HIV (PWH)".

Prof. Jason Holland of the Department of Chemistry and their collaborative European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder grant ('Supramolecular Agents as Radiotheranostic Drugs' (SMARTdrugs) was approved for funding.

Prof. Fritjof Helmchen of the Brain Research Institute has been awarded a coveted SNSF Advanced Grant worth CHF 2 million to fund his project researching a new theory of memory formation.
